Weitz & Luxenberg Compiles Extensive Research Report on Autism and Mercury Poisoning in Children

Weitz & Luxenberg P.C. has been researching the area of autism in children and the possible link to mercury poisoning for many years, and has compiled a 105-page report on the subject, "Thimerosal and Autism: The Mercury Poisoning of American Children," by Shannon Sneed.

Sneed's article begins with the following introduction:
Autism is a lifelong, severe neurological disorder for which no definitive cure exists.

In the last 15 years there has been a dramatic increase in the number of young children being diagnosed with autism every year. During this same period the Centers for Disease Control's (CDC) National Vaccine Program Office (NVPO) substantially increased the number of mandatory vaccines given within the first two years of an infant's life.

What no one anticipated for nearly a decade was this increase exposed children to a potent neurotoxin, ethylmercury, in dosages far exceeding federal safety guidelines.

Although, the FDA, CDC, and vaccine manufacturers have repeatedly sought to control and deny any data showing an association between thimerosal and neurological disorders, over the past few years a strong body of biological and epidemiological evidence has amassed, linking the epidemic of autism and other neurological developmental disorders to ethylmercury's neurological assault on the young, developing brain of fetuses, infants and toddlers.

All of the evidence taken together is likely to permit general causation to pass muster under a Daubert analysis.
