Physicians Take Patients off Avandia Medicine, Citing its Heart Risks
Following reports that the diabetes drug Avandia may increase heart attack
risks, some doctors have begun to take their patients off the medicine,
switching them to alternative drugs that control blood sugar, reports

Avandia at this point," a general internist, Dan Allen, reportedly told the Iowa
paper.
According to the article, Allen said the physician group's
executive committee recommended to their physicians that they discontinue
Avandia use in patients.
