FDA Announces Beef Recall Due to E. coli Concern

Amid growing worries of E. coli contamination of carrot juice, spinach and lettuce, the FDA has issued a recall of over 5,000 pounds of ground beef that may be contaminated.
The problem was detected during microbiology testing at Jim's Market and Locker, Inc., in Harlan, Iowa.
The recall extends to distributors in Georgia, Massachusetts, Nebraska, New York, Texas and Wisconsin.
The warning only includes ground beef product that was produced by Jim's Market on August 31 and September 1. Each package bears the establishment number "Est. 2424" inside the USDA mark of inspection.
