Pulmonary Embolism has recently been linked as a side effect of the dangerous
drug Bextra. Pulmonary Embolism is the condition in which a blockage of an
artery in the lungs through blood clots, breakage from plaque build-up, foreign
substances or air.
Pulmonary Embolism usually originates from deep vein
thrombosis and affects approximately 5 out of 10,000 people in the US every
year.
Symptoms of Pulmonary Embolism include but are not limited to
sudden shortness of breath at rest and with exertion, lightheadedness, chest
pain(sharp stabbing pain caused by breathing in deeply or occurs under the
breastbone), increased heart rate, excessive sweating, and coughing
blood.
Emergency care and hospitalization must be sought as this
condition may lead to sudden death.
