Residents living around the Countywide Recycling & Disposal Facility near Bolivar, in Stark County, which is located about ten miles SW of Canton, are contending with an unacceptable quality of life.

A horrible stench has engulfed their properties, making the simple act of stepping outside for fresh air, a lost luxury.

According to locals, this untenable situation has been going on for years, but now, the stench and gas odors have extended over 25 miles beyond the landfill site.

Many people have contacted the City Health Department, Division of Air Pollution Control, as well as the Division Outdoor Air Nuisance.

Fed up with the foul odor, they have organized and attended meetings, and are now exploring the option of bringing a lawsuit to fight for their right to a clean environment.
