A noxious odor has affected the well-being of residents in Bolivar, Ohio and surrounding communities.

The EPA has said this odor is a result of aluminum dross/saltcake that Countywide Recycling landfill accepted in large amounts.

According to Robert Frey, geologist and chief of the Health Assessment Unit of the Ohio Department of Health, odors can create health problems such as headaches, or nausea.

Frey was quoted in the Times-Reporter on the issue: "Basically, when you breathe a bad odor, it goes to the brain and can cause a person to become anxious and the stress level increases and could cause respiratory problems."

As a result of the extreme odor, families in the area have begun to seek legal counsel with Weitz & Luxenberg's Environmental Toxic Tort Unit, as well as with Steven D. Bell Co.

Weitz & Luxenberg, P.C. represents over 50 water providers whose water supplies have been contaminated with MTBE, as well as several communities around the country for the personal injuries and property damage they have suffered as a result of pollution.
