October 8, 2008 -- Each day in the United States, more than 11 million men

and maintains the structures we all inhabit. That is the nation’s burgeoning

Though fatalities declined in the construction
industry last year to 1,178 (from 1,239 in 2006), the U.S. construction industry
experiences more fatalities than any industry in the private sector, according
to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and
Health.
