FEDERAL WAY - A 39-year-old Kent man was killed Friday morning after a wall collapsed at a construction site in Federal Way.
Police say several construction workers were using a cable to put up a 12x36 foot wall up at a medical professional building. But the cable snapped and the wall fell.

Five construction workers were injured — four seriously — when the framework of a roof collapsed onto them Thursday afternoon, a town spokeswoman said.
The five — all men in their late 20s — were working on a one-story addition to an office building that houses medical offices when the frame of the incomplete roof gave way, Cary spokeswoman Susan Moran said.

The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited Ramos Industries Inc. of Houston and proposed penalties totaling $100,000 for exposing employees to trenching and excavation hazards.
OSHA citations against the company alleged one alleged willful, one serious and one repeat violation following an investigation that began Dec. 16, 2004. The investigation, part of a planned inspection under OSHA's national emphasis program for trenching, found that employees were working in an unprotected excavation while installing a concrete manhole at a Palmhurst, Texas, worksite.
OSHA Fines Pearland, Texas, Company $133,000 Following Trenching Fatality

PEARLAND, Texas- The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited KCC Group Inc., Pearland, Texas, and proposed penalties totaling $133,000 for failing to protect workers from trenching hazards that led to an employee's death.
OSHA began its investigation Dec. 23, 2004, in response to a trench cave-in at a worksite on York Blvd. in Pearland. One worker was killed; another dug himself free and escaped without serious injury. OSHA citations against the company alleged two willful, 10 serious and two other-than-serious violations of safety and health standards.
