The contact lens solution, ReNu with MoistureLoc, has been linked to the blinding disease Fusarium Keratitis and the subsequent need for corneal transplants. Furthermore, certain batches of ReNu MultiPlus have been recalled due to discoloration. Lawsuit information follows:

A notice to all users of ReNu contact lens solution:
It was
discovered that ReNu with MoistureLoc can lead to several harmful side
effects, including some extremely dangerous ones like the fusarium
keratitis fungus, blindness and corneal ulcers.

On August, 23, 2006, a US research
report revealed that one-third of patients with a serious eye infection
associated with the ReNu with MoistureLoc product had such severe
infections that they had or will need a corneal
transplant.
The study, “Multistate Outbreak of Fusarium
Keratitis Associated with use of Contact Lens Solution,” found that ReNu with
MoistureLoc was responsible for the outbreak of potentially blinding fungal eye
infections in the last year. Bausch & Lomb finally issued a recall in May
2006.
