David A. Chandler is an associate attorney in our Asbestos Litigation group. A primary responsibility of his is helping clients understand the legal steps involved in the litigation process – in so doing, he helps them feel more confident as they press forward with their case. Additionally, Mr. Chandler is involved in all aspects of the cases assigned to him, beginning with the filing of the complaint, continuing throughout the entire discovery process (including taking and defending depositions and drafting and arguing motions) and concluding with either a settlement or verdict. Mr. Chandler came to Weitz & Luxenberg in 2001 after a five-year stint as an analyst with American International Group Technical Services, where he managed complex insurance claims arising from lead exposures, toxic torts and environmental incidents. Prior to that, he played a similar role for Envision Claims Management, but was focused more on cases involving hazardous waste claims (including Superfund Sites, RCRA sites and underground storage-tank spills). Mr. Chandler is admitted to practice law in the state of New York and before the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of New York. In 1998, he received a juris doctor degree from Seton Hall University School of Law – a course of study he undertook evenings while employed full-time. He completed undergraduate studies at Montclair State University, which, in 1991, conferred upon him a bachelor of science degree. Mr. Chandler holds active memberships in the New York State Trial Lawyers Assn. and the New York County Lawyers Assn., two important organizations giving voice to practitioners of the law.
“Mesothelioma claims as many as 3,000 victims each year. Over the past three decades, we at Weitz & Luxenberg have been fighting for those victims and for all who have been harmed by asbestos. It’s a very great privilege to seek justice for them and their families.” – David A. Chandler, Esq.
