Did exposure to dioxins cause health problems? Our environmental team may be able to help.
The Environmental Protection Agency has found that exposure to dioxins at high enough doses may cause a number of adverse health effects.
The most common health effect in people exposed to large amounts of dioxin is chloracne.
Chloracne cases have typically been the result of accidents or significant contamination events.
Chloracne is a severe skin disease with acne-like lesions that occur mainly on the face and upper body.
Other effects of exposure to large amounts of dioxin include skin rashes, skin discoloration, excessive body hair, and possibly mild liver damage.
One of the main concerns over health effects from dioxins is the risk of cancer in adults. Several studies suggest that workers exposed to high levels of dioxins at their workplace over many years have an increased risk of cancer.
There is also concern that exposure to low levels of dioxins over long periods (or high level exposures at sensitive times) might result in reproductive or developmental effects.
Our environmental attorneys are litigators with extensive courtroom experience and an in-depth understanding of the environmental laws involving dioxins.
Our litigation encompasses toxic tort, personal injury and property damage claims. We counsel and represent our clients in all phases of civil litigation, including all pre-trial proceedings such as document production and depositions and trials.
If your family has been affected by dioxins or any other dangerous substance, we may be able to help. Please fill out the form below for a free legal evaluation of your potential dioxins exposure case. We will be in touch shortly.
