Preparing exterior ship spaces

There are a few areas on the exterior of ships where asbestos was used.

Asbestos may have been mixed with paint and applied as a coating near some vents and hatches. Also, some hatches may have gaskets that contain asbestos.

In either case, the material does not need to be removed unless these exterior areas require grinding or cutting.
