Heparin maker Covidien recalls lots of pre-filled syringes because of contamination
Yet another Heparin manufacturer, Covidien, has recalled lots of its pre-filled heparin syringes after learning news from the Food and Drug Administration about the contamination with a heparin-like counterfeit molecule.
Baxter recalled all of its heparin products; they have been linked to serious allergic reactions and 19 deaths, according to the FDA.
The Agency has identified chondroitin sulfate, a "heparin-like" contaminant, in crude heparin from plants in China and Waunakee, Wis.
