Did you take Heparin for Thrombophilias during your pregnancy?
Heparin and Pregnancy
During pregnancy, women who suffer from
thrombophilias are at increased risk for suffering a miscarriage.
Thrombophilia is a disorder that causes the blood to clot to easily. It is caused by the body producing either too much of blood clotting factor proteins or to few of the anti-clotting proteins that limit the formation of blood clots.
One in five people in the United States has suffered from the disorder. Pregnant women who suffer from thrombophilias are sometimes treated with injections of Heparin both during their pregnancies and during the postpartum period. Heparin is typically prescribed since the drug does not cross the placenta.
If you were harmed after being administered heparin, please complete the form below and a representative of our firm will contact you as soon as possible.
