Krisp-Pak Recall on Fresh Fruit Due to Possible Health Risk

The Krisp-Pak Company, Inc., of Norfolk, VA is issuing a recall on all of its
packaged fresh cut fruit that contains an expiration date on or before
11/9/06.
These lots, reports
the Food and Drug Administration, have the potential to be contaminated with
Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes
fatal infections in children and the elderly.
Thus far, no illnesses have
been reported in connection with the fruit.
