Recalled California Lettuce Tests Negative for E. coli

According to The Nunes Company Inc. of Salinas, Calif., lettuce recalled over
fears that it may be contaminated with E. coli tested negative for the dangerous
bacteria.
The company said multiple samples from the over 8,000 cartons
of the green-leaf lettuce tested negative.
E. Coli Worry Spreads to Lettuce: Foxy voluntarily recalled as a precaution

Amid growing concern regarding contaminated spinach, carrot juice and meat,
Foxy has voluntarily issued a recall of its lettuce due to worry over E. coli
contamination.
Thus far, the lettuce hasn't harmed anyone but executives
at the Nunes Company, makers of Foxy lettuce, withdrew the product after finding
that irrigation water may have been contaminated with E. coli, according to
The Associated Press.
The recall includes all green leaf lettuce
sold between October 3 and October 6 in Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana,
Nevada, Oregon and Washington.
