Exercise can help you fight lung cancer
Research shows that for many patients, exercise is not only safe and possible during cancer treatment, but can improve physical functioning and quality of life. Regular exercise is an effective way to counter the adverse effects of inactivity in chronic illness. Too much rest can result in loss of function, strength, and range of motion in a person with a chronic illness such as lung cancer. Thus, many health care professionals are now advising their patients to be as physically active as possible during cancer treatment. Some of the benefits of regular exercise include:
Maintenance or improvement of physical abilities
Prevention of muscle wasting
Reduced risk of heart disease
Improved blood flow
Reduced dependence on others for performance of everyday activities
Decreased nausea
