Non-small cell lung cancer- important lung cancer information

Those doing research on lung cancer should be aware of the following information. The non-small cell lung cancers are grouped together because their prognosis and management are very similar. The subgroups are:

Epidermoid carcinoma (also known as Squamous cell carcinoma)- starts in the larger breathing tubes but grows more slowly.
Adenocarcinoma - is a form which starts near the gas-exchanging surface of the lung. It is less closely associated with smoking.
Large cell carcinoma- is a fast-growing form that grows near the surface of the lung.
