How non-smokers can reduce their risk for lung cancer while in public places
In order to avoid passive smoking in public places, non-smokers can take a number of precautions to reduce their risk of developing lung cancer from inhalation of second-hand smoke. They can ask to be seated in non-smoking areas as far from smokers as possible when dining out. They can eat in smoke-free restaurants, and let those that are not smoke-free know the reason why customers would not patronize them. They can ask in advance about smoking policies and let all hotels, tours, ships, rental car agencies, etc. know of their preferences.
