Delaware jury awards woman $2.78M in medical malpractice trial against two doctors

August 12, 2008 – A 39-year-old Delaware woman filed medical malpractice charges against two local doctors she said caused her excruciating and chronic pain, first after one physician attempted to remove contraceptive implant rods, and later when she underwent “unnecessary” neck surgery.

A Delaware County jury agreed with the charges in her malpractice lawsuit and four days ago awarded the woman $2.78 million in damages for the doctors' negligence.

The verdict was the outcome of two separate litigations that were joined for trial.
