Wisconsin man awarded $3.2 million in malpractice amputation case
In recent medical malpractice news, a Wisconsin jury awarded a 35-year-old man $3.2 million in a medical malpractice case that ultimately involved the amputation of the man’s leg.
A jury decided that a physician was negligent in his treatment of the patient, who injured his leg while working at a factory in 2003.
The patient reportedly visited his personal doctor five times with no improvement, before deciding to see a specialist, who diagnosed muscle and nerve damage and inadequate blood flow.
The man's lower leg was finally amputated in 2004, after it never regained feeling.
