Malpractice News: Medpedia Online Medical Encyclopedia

Malpractice News: In July 2008, the U.S. National Institutes of Health, the CDC and the FDA, as well as several premiere medical schools in the U.S. announced they had created an online encyclopedia of medicine for patients called MedPedia.

The Medpedia site will include information on over 30,000 diseases, medical procedures and prescription drugs in an easy to read and understand format.

The site will be written, edited and managed by a volunteer team of doctors, medical researchers and healthcare professionals who have applied to be qualified as editors on the site.

A preview if the site is available at www.Medpedia.com, with an official site launch expected at the end of 2008.
