Ed McMahon sues L.A. hospital for neck injury misdiagnosis and medical malpractice
July 21, 2008 – Long-time television personality Ed McMahon sued a Los Angeles hospital and two doctors last week over their handling of a serious neck injury.
The former “The Tonight Show” sidekick to Johnny Carson – who for 30 years introduced Carson with his trademark “Heeeere’s Johnny” introduction – filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court against Cedars-Sinai Medical Center claiming medical negligence and malpractice.
McMahon, 85, said his doctors failed to diagnose his broken neck after a fall and discharged him from the hospital without taking an X-ray, causing him to suffer months of pain and discomfort, and loss of income.
