Physician sues doctors for malpractice, alleging negligence and improper treatment after abdominal surgery
A physician has filed a malpractice lawsuit against two other doctors, alleging negligence and improper treatment when he needed abdominal surgery, according to the Charleston Daily Mail, May 9, 2008.
The gynecologist was admitted to the hospital and underwent abdominal surgery, the Daily Mail reported.
He contends that the hospital and physicians failed to provide adequate, proper and safe medical care, advice, assessment, monitoring and treatment.
They also failed to perform an appropriate and safe surgical procedure on him, the article reported.
After surgery, the gynecologist developed an infection. His condition deteriorated to the point where he developed severe and debilitating abdominal pain, decreased consciousness and overwhelming septic shock, according to the news report.
