Malpractice lawsuit: Man erroneously diagnosed with mesothelioma cancer dies in lung cancer surgery.
In a deadly case of medical malpractice, a man died after his physicians erroneously determined he had lung cancer and removed a healthy lung as therapy to improve his survival prospects; it was reported by the Daily Mail in London on June 5, 2008.
An autopsy to determine the cause of his death uncoverd that his lung was
completely healthy. It was also determined that doctors hid the results from the
man's family until after he died, according to the news report.
