Doctors to pay higher malpractice insurance and collect smaller fees for treating Medicare patients
The New York Sun has reported that doctors will likely have to pay higher malpractice insurance premiums and will likely receive lower fees from treating Medicare patients.
The federal government is scheduled to cut fees by 10.6% to doctors who treat Medicare patients. The House of Representatives passed legislation to reverse the reimbursement cut but President Bush has threatened to veto the legislation.
