Kentucky Hospital and Nursing Homes Named in Medical Malpractice Lawsuits
In May 2008, two hospitals and a nursing home in Kentucky were sued for medical malpractice.
In the first case, a Richmond, Kentucky couple sued both the Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center and a doctor on the hospital staff alleging that the husband suffered debilitating strokes because the hospital doctor, refused to run tests ordered by the patient’s physician.
Also in May 2008, the administrator of the estate of a resident of The Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Berea, filed a lawsuit. He claims that the facility’s inadequate staffing and care failed to meet standards set by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, which caused the resident’s untimely death.
