Malpractice Lawsuit Case: Orthopedic Surgeon Sued for Staph Infection. Get a free legal review.
A New Jersey man has been awarded $3.5 million in a medical malpractice lawsuit involving an orthopedic surgeon, according to the Gloucester County Times on April 30, 2008.
The jury came back in the case involving a trash collector who suffered a
knee injury and required surgery, reported the Times.
According to
the plaintiff's lawyer, his client was operated on by an orthopedic surgeon.
The man
subsequently developed a post-surgical staph infection in his knee which has
resulted in multiple surgeries and "recurring infection and bone deterioration."
He now requires a "full leg immobilizer" and could lose part of his leg,
according to court documents.
