NY Woman Wins $10.7M in Medical Malpractice Lawsuit

In October 2008, a 71-year-old woman from Queens, New York was awarded $10.7 Million in a medical malpractice lawsuit filed against an NY hospital for their failure to provide her with timely care.

In 2004, the women fell down a flight of steps while at work and suffered a fractured skull. She was transported via ambulance to a local hospital, where she waited over two hours receive care for her injuries.

During the two hour delay in receiving medical attention, the woman lapsed into a coma and required brain surgery. As a result of the lack of proper medical care, the woman was left with permanent neurological damage and is now confined to a wheelchair.
