Mesothelioma from working with brake pads
Mesothelioma and brake pads
A news story concerning asbestos has reported that a 57-year-old woman developed mesothelioma from working with brake pads that contained asbestos.
It is believed that the woman became exposed to asbestos fibers during her time of employment at a car company. While employed there, she worked with brake pads that contained asbestos. In addition, the woman also worked on the brake pads of her own car. It is possible that she was exposed to asbestos from that activity as well.
Many who have worked with brake pads have come forward to say that their work environment led to a diagnosis of mesothelioma, asbestosis or lung cancer from asbestos.
