Rail worker exposed to asbestos developed mesothelioma
Mesothelioma from being exposed to asbestos
The Swindon Advertiser has reported on the case of a rail worker who developed mesothelioma from being exposed to asbestos at his workplace. The worker was involved in the repair of rail carriages in the 1950s and 1960s. He was diagnosed with mesothelioma decades later in 2008.
He filed a mesothelioma lawsuit because he was never warned of the dangers arising from being exposed to asbestos and was never provided with equipment to prevent asbestos exposure. His lawsuit was settled in 11 weeks and the settlement will provide his loved ones with a means of financial support.
