Man dies of mesothelioma after breathing asbestos dust in an old factory.
A TV producer died of mesothelioma decades after working on the set of cult cop show, which featured an old factory.
The man, who was 75, recalled before his death that he had been exposed to harmful levels of asbestos while working on an episode of the 1980s detective show.
He recalled that his production team had discovered the old factory and thought it was a perfect setting for the show, so he began readying the area for shooting.
This involved sweeping up the building using a dustpan and brush and clearing rubble from the factory floor.
Tragically, the clean-up was all done by hand using brushes - there was no protective equipment to keep him from breathing in the deadly asbestos dust and fibers.
