Second-Hand Exposure Lawsuit: Man Brought Home Asbestos Fibers From Work, Causing Wifes Mesothelioma

The family of a woman who died from mesothelioma linked to her husband bringing asbestos fibers home from work recently contacted us to discuss her case.

Her husband was a salesman for an asbestos panel company and used to bring home samples in a briefcase.

Although he usually kept it locked with papers and samples of asbestos products inside, he would work out of it from the dining room table, court documents revealed.

And his clothes – which his wife laundered – would have come into contact with asbestos particles whenever he visited the factory.

Medical tests revealed in 2007 that she had mesothelioma – a disease linked to asbestos exposure.

Before her death, she indicated in legal statements that as far as she was aware, her husband never used any protective equipment while he worked with the asbestos products.
