Idaho Court Case Moves Forward: "My mesothelioma diagnosis could have been prevented."
An Idaho woman with mesothelioma is moving forward with an asbestos lawsuit against dozens of companies, alleging her illness was wrongfully caused.
The woman was a homemaker from 1966 until 1977. After that, she worked at numerous jobs around Idaho.
Her father was a maintenance man at Milwaukee Railroad and her ex-husband worked as a laborer in Idaho, the court papers indicate.
She says she was exposed to asbestos fibers through the clothing her father and ex-husband would wear home from work.
Many people develop asbestos-related illnesses such as mesothelioma through second-hand exposure, for example, after coming in contact with asbestos fibers when washing the clothes of someone who worked with it.
According to the Idaho lawsuit, she believes her mesothelioma diagnosis could have been anticipated and avoided by those who employed her father and husband and failed to warn him of the dangers of asbestos exposure.
