You'll find here an all too common story about asbestos exposure followed by helpful information about how you can move forward with your specific asbestos and mesothelioma-related questions.
On February 1, 2008, the Associated Press reported that a grand jury
charged two men with violating environmental laws and lying to an OSHA inspector
about asbestos removal in the
demolition of an old hospital wing in Rochester, New York last
year.
According to the article, the two men, both of Rochester, were
charged, along with Gordon-Smith Contracting Inc.
The defendants are
accused of causing workers to disturb asbestos at the
former Genesee Hospital's West Wing building in the removal of copper piping
from ceilings filled with fire insulation laden with asbestos.
Sadly, as the mesothelioma
lawyers in the Weitz & Luxenberg Asbestos Litigation unit have seen
through their work, this is an egregious, yet common, example of people who were
exposed to asbestos simply because the powers that be failed to have in place
routine safety measures.
Weitz & Luxenberg is a leading plaintiffs'
law firm that has represented people affected by mesothelioma for over 20 years. Men and women
diagnosed with mesothelioma or lung cancer
caused by asbestos exposure may be
entitled to compensation from the companies responsible for their disease.
