Residents of Minnesota May Seek Legal Assistance With Our Mesothelioma Lawyers.
Researchers from the University of Minnesota will give an update on their five-year study into mesothelioma cancer on the Iron Range, according to the Associated Press on December 18, 2008.
They will soon present to the community information from a $4.9 million study of unusually high rates of mesothelioma cancer among taconite miners.
As a component of the research, health screenings of Minnesota miners and their families will begin in a few months.
Reportedly, the researchers will screen about 2,000 people at the Virginia Regional Medical Center.
They are attempting to determine if there is a relationship between exposure to taconite dust and mesothelioma, which is typically associated with exposure to asbestos.
