Plumber with mesothelioma: I was never warned about the dangers of asbestos."
A plumber in the United Kingdom died from mesothelioma cancer after working with asbestos, reported the Grimsby Telegraph on May 28, 2008.
According to the article, the man had spent 30 years working as a chemical plumber - which brought him into contact with the carcinogen asbestos.
He had reportedly been exposed to asbestos while installing machinery, and that machinery had been connected to pipes lagged in asbestos. He had often worked in close proximity to those lagging the pipes.
Before his death, he stated that he had never been warned of the dangers related to working with asbestos, or given any kind of protective clothing.
Sadly, this situation, where exposure to asbestos was easily preventable, is all too familiar to the mesothelioma attorneys in the Weitz & Luxenberg P.C. Asbestos Litigation unit here in the United States.
