Mesothelioma shortens repairman's life and our lawyers investigate
If your mesothelioma cancer was caused by asbestos exposure on the job as a repairman, we can help you file a claim
In recent news about the dangers of asbestos exposure, a New York State jury has ordered a supplier of industrial control valves and control systems to pay the family of a repairman $2.25 million for his death from mesothelioma cancer.
After a six-week trial, the jury held the company financially liable for the asbestos-caused mesothelioma that killed the repairman.
He died at 70, just nine years after retiring from a New York plant.
The repairman, from 1970 through 1988, regularly serviced valves that contained asbestos gaskets and packing, his asbestos attorneys said.
The jury found the manufacturer of those materials had acted with reckless disregard for the repairman's workplace safety, making it 100 percent financially responsible for his painful death under New York law.
Asbestos is found in many products used in buildings, including ceiling tiles, pipe insulation, boilers and sprayed coatings.
