Steel Workers With Mesothelioma, Asbestos Cancers or Lung Disease May Discuss Legal Options With Our Attorneys
In recent news about the danger of exposure to asbestos, a steelworker who contracted mesothelioma cancer from overalls coated with asbestos has won lawsuit compensation.
The man, who is 82, was exposed to the deadly substance asbestos while working for a steel Corporation from the 1950s to the 1970s.
Although he did not work with asbestos directly, one of his jobs was to collect workers' overalls.
The steel worker was diagnosed with mesothelioma, a cancer of the lining of the lung caused by exposure to asbestos, last year.
He recalls the clouds of dust on the site, and that no one was instructed to use protective clothing.
Of his mesothelioma diagnosis he said: "My suffering, and that of countless others, could have been prevented if employers had only taken more care in the past to protect workers."
Many steel workers have come forward to say their work environment led to a diagnosis of mesothelioma, asbestosis or lung cancer from asbestos.
