The National Cancer Institute is currently seeking participants for a Phase III clinical trial involving video-assisted surgery to see how well it works compared with talc pleurodesis in treating malignant mesothelioma.
Patients selected to participate in the study will undergo either a video-assisted pleurectomy or a talc pleurodesis.
At this time, the study is only being conducted at five hospitals in England: Basildon University Hospital, Basildon; Glenfield Hospital in Leicester; Guy’s Hospital in London; Papworth Hospital in Cambridge and the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield.
