The Japanese biotech research company CanBas Co. LTD is currently seeking patients in the U.S. to participate in clinical trials for an experimental drug called CBP501 in the treatment of malignant mesothelioma.
In the two phase trial, mesothelioma patients will be given doses of the experimental drug along with Pemetrexed and Cisplatin. The purpose of the study is to determine the maximum tolerable dose of the three drugs and the effectiveness of the drugs in the treatment of mesothelioma.
The study is being conducted at the following hospitals: Nevada Cancer Institute, Las Vegas, Nevada; University of New Mexico Cancer Center, Albuquerque, NM; Memorial-Sloane Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY; Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA; and the Cancer Therapy & Research Center; San Antonio, TX.
