• Explore the biologic effects of cisplatin, imatinib mesylate, and pemetrexed on tumor tissue by histologic analysis of biopsy tissue. [ Time Frame: 2 Years ] [ Designated as safety issue: No ]

• Explore the biologic effects of cisplatin, imatinib mesylate, and pemetrexed on tumor tissue by non-invasive assessments of tumor vascularity. [ Time Frame: 2 Years ] [ Designated as safety issue: No ]

• Explore the biologic effects of cisplatin, imatinib mesylate, and pemetrexed on tumor tissue by electron microscopy analysis of endothelial cell architecture. [ Time Frame: 2 Years ] [ Designated as safety issue: No ]

• Explore the effects of cisplatin, imatinib mesylate, and pemetrexed on surrogate markers in serum. [ Time Frame: 2 Years ] [ Designated as safety issue: No ]

• Assess the rate of response to therapy. [ Time Frame: 2 Years ] [ Designated as safety issue: No ]
