Causes of lung cancer

While smoking is one of the major causes of lung cancer, non smokers can also develop lung cancer. This is because exposure to substances such as asbestos, second-hand smoke, arsenic, radioactive dust and radon can cause lung cancer. Exposure to these substances can occur by mere inhalation and can take place in any environment where the cancer-causing substance exists. Asbestos for example, has been found to exist in the job settings of some automobile workers and construction workers.
