Scotland Prime Minister battles mesothelioma cancer; vows to fight for re-election, report says.
Prime Minister John MacDougall, who is battling mesothelioma cancer, is determined to over come the illness and fight the next election, reported the Daily Record of Scotland on June 11, 2008.
The 60-year-old Labor official made this public statement after word came
that others were seeking to challenge his re-election bid.
According to
the Record, MacDougall said an operation for mesothelioma had been a success and he was
working in his office.
"My intention is to fight the next election and to
win it," he told the press in Scotland.
