Into the Vein: Administering Alimta
Weitz & Luxenberg cannot endorse Alimta.
According to the FDA
Alimta is administered directly into the vein intravenously about every three weeks. Cisplatin is then added about 30 minutes after the patient receives Alimta treatment. To reduce the odds of side effects with Alimta, it is advised that patients take folic acid and vitamin B12 before, during and after treatment.
