Ortho Evra Birth Control Patch Method of Use

A notice to all Ortho Evra Birth Control Patch users:
Mounting scientific evidence indicating the Ortho Evra contraceptive patch increases the risk of developing serious blood clots in users, has led the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to add a new bolded warning to the product’s label on January 18, 2008.

This is the third time the label has been modified to include information on this health risk.

It was discovered years earlier that the Ortho Evra patch could lead to a variety of harmful side effects, including some extremely dangerous ones like heart attack, stroke, deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism.

If you have experienced harmful side effects after using Ortho Evra, you may be entitled to a lawsuit. Please complete this form and you will receive a free case evaluation from Weitz & Luxenberg.

In the United States and Canada, Ortho Evra is available only by prescription and is sold in boxes of three patches.

A woman applies her first patch onto her upper outer arm, buttocks, abdomen or thigh on either the first day of her menstrual cycle (day 1) or on the first Sunday following that day, whichever she prefers. The day of application is known from that point as patch change day.

If you've used the Ortho Evra Birth Control Patch and have suffered a blood clot, pulmonary embolism, heart attack, or stroke you may be able to file a lawsuit. To get started, please fill out this form.

Seven days later, when patch change day comes again , the woman removes the patch and applies another in its place. This process is repeated again on the next patch change day. On the following patch change day, the patch is removed and not replaced. The woman waits 7 days without a patch in place, and on the next patch change day she applies a new patch.

Now you can receive important updated information on the risks to using the Ortho Evra Birth Control Patch. Request a complimentary information booklet (supplies are limited).
