Motorola lawsuit information
Our firm is currently speaking with residents of people affected by the groundwater contamination from the former Motorola 52nd Street Plant. Discuss your situation and get important lawsuit information via the form below.
Motorola, Inc. (52nd Street Plant): Background
The former Motorola 52nd Street Plant (now operated by ON Semiconductor) is a 90-acre semiconductor manufacturing plant located in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1982, Motorola discovered an underground storage tank was leaking at their facility.
Further investigations determined that the soil and ground water were contaminated with a variety of chlorinated solvents, including trichloroethylene (TCE) and tetrachloroethylene (PCE), which were used in Motorola's semiconductor manufacturing operations.
The site was added to the Superfund National Priorities List in 1989.
It has come the attention of our environmental attorneys that Lindon Park families may be adversely affected by this pollution. We encourage all affected residents to contact us about a possible Motorola Superfund lawsuit.
The Motorola plant (now Freescale Semiconductor, Inc) installed a ground water treatment system for ground water on-site and off-site which has been in operation since 1992.
An air sparging and soil vapor extraction system was operated in 1996 and 1997.
A ground water extraction and treatment system using granular activated carbon was installed to contain the westerly edge of the ground water plume and has been operating since 2001.
Over three million gallons of water are treated and discharged daily by the system.
