Negligence by hospital allegedly led to stroke
The Madison Messenger has reported on a negligence case that allegedly caused a patient to suffer a stroke.
The patient, a diabetic, arrived at the hospital complaining of dry heaves that he had been experiencing for the past two days. The nurse failed to include the fact that he was a diabetic and that he had a low blood sugar level in her report. Further, the nurse labeled him as a non-urgent patient. As a result, the patient went untreated for about 12 hours and suffered a stroke.
