The Dallas Morning News reported on May 4, 2008 that more than 70
employees at the 10 state mental hospitals in Texas have been fired and dozens
others cited in disciplinary cases since 2005 over accusations of brutal

Disciplinary records obtained by the News, reveal that the violence
against patients included chokeholds, headlocks and threats.
