Has Yaz, Yasmin or Ocella birth control caused health problems? Discuss your situation with a leading lawyer from our drug and medical device unit

Ocella birth control is the generic equivalent of Yasmin and is manufactured by Barr Laboratories.

Yaz, Yasmin and Ocella birth control pills contain ethinyl estradiol and the new "fourth generation" progestin drospirenone (DRSP).

Unfortunately, these DRSP oral contraceptives have also been associated with adverse side effects such as:

  • Death
  • Blood clots in the legs (DVT or Deep Vein Thrombosis)
  • Blood clots in the lungs (PE or Pulmonary Embolism)
  • Portal Vein Thrombosis and blood clots in other veins
  • Stroke
  • Heart attack
  • Gall bladder complications requiring surgery

Two recent studies published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) in August 2009, found a higher risk of venous blood clots for women taking newer progestins, including drospirenone.

If you or a relative have experienced birth control side effects after using Yasmin, YAZ or Ocella, you have the right to file a legal claim.

Our attorneys can help you determine if you have a case and how to file a claim.

All claims are handled on a contingency fee basis, meaning you do not have to pay attorney fees unless you are awarded compensation.
